San Francisco, CA (August 1, 2014) –– A spine‐tingling page‐turner, The World’s Most Haunted House: The True Story of the Bridgeport Poltergeist on Lindley Street was written by a Bridgeport native with a unique background. In 1974 when William J. Hall was a young boy, more than 2,000 residents in person and on TV witnessed the terrifying rampage of what was believed to be a poltergeist, from levitating furniture to floating refrigerators and physical attacks.
The Lindley Street haunting was the talk of the city and the state during all of the author’s youth and it remained crystal‐clear in his memory. He became a professional, performing magician and an expert in researching the unexplained, from folklore and
urban legend to fortune telling, the pyramids, and other mysteries. His syndicated column “Magic and the Unknown” ran for many years in multiple newspapers in Connecticut.
For The World’s Most Haunted House, he interviewed dozens of witnesses and the police officers and firefighters involved in the Lindley Street incident, revealing for the first time the details of what happened. Readers will:
Relive the startling appearance of the poltergeist, the emotional response of the onlookers, and the unexplainable events that took place in the house
Thrill to excerpts from actual interviews, police reports, and previously unpublished documents
Access unreleased audio, poltergeist sounds, and an old radio broadcast.Page Two/World’s Most Haunted House
